De Buitlier Aubracs

De Buitlier Aubracs are a family run herd established in 2010 when we bought our first 2 pedigree Aubrac heifers in Tullamore sale, we have since expanded the herd to over 20 Pedigree Aubrac. Our plan is to continue expanding the herd by keeping our own pedigree heifers as replacements. We also farm 20 suckler cows and sell the weanlings in the mart in October each year.

This year we bought an Aubrac stock bull to run with the suckler herd. This is a new venture for us as we have always used a charolais bull. The reason for this change is because we wanted an easy calving bull that would produce top quality weanlings for both maternal and terminal trade. We are following a breeding programme set out by French Aubrac expert Phillipp Laborde which involves using top Aubrac Bulls from both Ireland and France.
