BALLYBOLLEN PEDIGREE LIVESTOCK HERD

Ballybollen Pedigree Livestock owned by Ernest and Jean Gregg and their daughters Naomi and Rebecca. We are situated 5 miles from Ballymena in County Antrim , Northern Ireland.

The Ballybollen herd is both a pedigree and commercial herd consisting of 50 suckler cows with also pedigree Blues , Salers and now Aubracs.

We were first introduced to the Aubrac Breed in 2013 when we visited the Irish Aubrac Society at the National Ploughing Championship. They all made us so welcome and shared their expertise of Aubrac Cattle with us.

In 2014 we met with society members again , when we were able to share news of the addition to Ballybollen herd as we purchased 5 heifers from George Hayes, Co.Tipperary.

Of these we have calved 4 Pedigree Aubrac – using Despagnou an AI Aubrac bull and have successfully calved 2 bulls and 2 heifers and 1 Crossbred blue calf.

In December 2014, we imported an in -calf cow from France who has since had a bull calf – Ballybollen Kristoff.

We were delighted to join the Irish Aubrac Society in 2015 and with their guidance and our own selection of cattle we hope to build on the herd breeding both pedigree and commercial cattle.

Visitors always welcome!!
