OUR SOCIETY
Formed in 1998, the Irish Aubrac Cattle Breeding Society of Ireland is committed to promoting Aubrac cattle in Ireland. To date, it has achieved reasonable success in this objective and is now on course to making Aubrac cattle a dominant breed in Ireland.
Our new website www.aubrac.ie (launched October 2021) is our main source for all content. We encourage members to register their profile online. They will then be part of our community of members and can discuss all facets of Aubrac related issues in our forum. Also, they will be able to use the classified feature to sell livestock etc.
As the society continues to grow, we continue to create awareness to more and more farmers of the benefits to be gained from breeding Aubracs.

A new joint record price of €5,000 for an Irish Aubrac Cattle Society premier show and sale was set at GVM Tullamore Mart on Saturday afternoon (October 26th, 2024). ![]()

Two bulls sold for €5,000, while the highest-priced maiden heifer fetched €4,100, the top-priced in-calf heifer sold for €4,000, and the top-priced weanling heifer changed hands for €1,750. ![]()

Compared to 2023 returns, the average for bulls was up a notable €840/head, while the average weanling heifer price rose by €485/head, and maiden heifers levelled at €220/hd, more, on average.![]()

Out of the 43 pre-selected lots presented for sale by thirteen herds, just one animal returned unsold. ![]()

Speaking following the sale, James Donnellan, chairperson of the Irish Aubrac Cattle Society, said: ![]()
