Calverstown Koala set to go under the hammer!

ICBF are now offering Calverstown Koala for sale, as he has fulfilled his target semen requirements. This is the ideal opportunity to purchase a quality bull, suitable for BDGP.
He is a 5 star bull for both Maternal and Terminal indexes, with a rating of €163 on replacement index and an estimated calving difficulty of 3.3%. He has a very placid temperament. He is the sixth calf of his dam ‘Calverstown Bodalla’, who is a consistent breeder with a calving internal of 359 days and no assisted calving. She is described as being a deep and square cow, with plenty of milk. His growth rate on the cow was 1.53kg/ day from birth. Her bloodline originates from the Ramon Herd, based in France, that is well-known for its maternal traits.

Koala’s sire ‘Four Candles’ was purchased in France out of the highly rated Boubal herd and is from the herd’s best performing bloodline.

Four Candles has sired over 200 calves, with very little calving difficulty. His he produced daughters of excellent maternal quality, while on the other hand his progeny that have been slaughtered have performed extremely, well with a total 90% of bullocks U grade.
A minimum reserve price of €2,500 has been placed.
